Position Summary
The AVP - Workday HRIS Lead will lead the strategic direction, management, optimization, and continuous improvement of Workday and the broader HR technology ecosystem. Reporting to the Vice President of HR Services, this role will oversee HRIS operations supporting approximately 7,000 employees across Corporate, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Power, Private Equity, and other operating companies globally.
The position is responsible for ensuring Workday and related HR systems remain scalable, efficient, compliant, and aligned with business objectives while driving exceptional employee experiences and operational excellence.
Strategy, Leadership and Operations
Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Workday HRIS platform aligned with organizational goals.
Act as a key advisor to HR leadership and business stakeholders regarding HR technology strategy.
Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and enhanced employee experiences.
Serve as a key escalation point for complex HR technology and HR service-related issues.
Build strong partnerships with HR Business Partners, HR Operations, and business stakeholders globally.
Collaborate with HR leadership to evaluate and implement new Workday functionalities and enhancements.
Lead Workday release management activities, including planning, testing, deployment, and communication.
Drive standardization, automation, and simplification of HR processes.
Develop service level agreements, performance metrics, and operational reporting frameworks.
Partner with global HR service desk teams to enhance employee support experiences.
Support cross-functional use of Workday beyond traditional HR transactions.
System Management and Optimization
Oversee design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday modules including HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, Recruiting, and Time Tracking.
Ensure data integrity, security, accuracy, and compliance across all HR systems.
Monitor system performance and lead troubleshooting efforts.
Manage Workday biannual release updates and enhancements.
Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with consultants and implementation partners.
Lead change management initiatives, training programs, and communication efforts for system enhancements.
Develop best-practice solutions involving reporting, security, integrations, and HR analytics.
Team Leadership and Development
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing HRIS team.
Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer service excellence.
Coach and assess HRIS managers, analysts, vendors, and service providers.
Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across HR functions.
Monitor team performance metrics and drive process improvements.
Stay current on emerging HR technology trends and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelorβs degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in HRIS, HR Operations, or related disciplines.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing HR technology platforms, preferably Workday.
Experience managing global HRIS functions across multiple locations.
Experience leading HR service desk or employee support operations.
Strong understanding of HR processes, data structures, compliance requirements, and HR analytics.
Technical Skills
Extensive expertise in Workday modules including HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, Recruiting, and Time Tracking.
Hands-on Workday configuration experience.
Experience managing Workday release management processes.
Strong reporting, analytics, integration, and system optimization capabilities.
Knowledge of change management principles and HR technology implementations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication & Leadership Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.

Additional Information
