Job Description
Zinc & Broccoli is a communication design studio specializing in B2B marketing communications for manufacturing and technology companies. The company helps organizations transform complex technical concepts into visually compelling and easy-to-understand marketing materials. Zinc & Broccoli works with clients globally and is known for its strategic design thinking and collaborative approach. The role also supports SCPL, a Bengaluru-based printing and packaging production company operating under the same founding group, with a workforce spanning production staff, machine operators, supervisors, and management personnel.
This is a newly created Human Resources leadership position and the selected candidate will be the first and only dedicated HR professional supporting both Zinc & Broccoli and SCPL. The role offers a unique opportunity to build HR systems, processes, and people practices from the ground up while working directly with leadership teams.
The Human Resources Manager will serve as the single point of accountability for all people operations across both organizations. Responsibilities include managing recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, HR administration, exits, compliance, and organizational development activities.
The role requires ownership of the KRA and KPI framework across both businesses. The candidate will design, implement, and manage structured performance review cycles, conduct periodic one-on-one meetings, facilitate formal appraisals, ensure performance documentation is maintained, and support employee development initiatives.
The Human Resources Manager will oversee end-to-end recruitment processes including job description creation, job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding activities for all positions across both organizations. The role also includes building candidate pipelines for recurring hiring requirements to reduce hiring timelines and improve recruitment efficiency.
Responsibilities include managing employee exit processes such as resignation handling, notice period management, offboarding procedures, exit interviews, and ensuring proper documentation and knowledge transfer processes are followed. The candidate will also act as an independent point of contact for employee concerns, interpersonal conflicts, workplace issues, and policy-related queries, reducing the burden on management teams.
A critical responsibility of the role is establishing and administering POSH compliance across both organizations. The candidate will set up the Internal Committee, coordinate employee awareness programs, conduct training sessions, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and serve as the first point of contact for concerns related to workplace conduct and harassment prevention.
Over the medium to long term, the Human Resources Manager will drive employee engagement programs, team-building initiatives, culture development activities, learning and development programs, and workforce upskilling efforts suitable for both creative studio and manufacturing environments. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to organizational design, HR policy development, and workforce planning as the companies continue to grow.
The position will be measured against key business outcomes including reduction in management time spent on HR matters, implementation of structured hiring and exit processes, successful completion of performance review cycles, improved employee engagement and retention, maintenance of accurate HR records, and full compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess strong HR generalist experience, expertise in performance management, employee relations, recruitment, policy implementation, compliance management, and stakeholder management. Experience working across diverse environments such as creative agencies, professional services firms, manufacturing facilities, or production organizations will be advantageous.
The candidate must be highly organized, process-driven, capable of working independently, and comfortable handling confidential employee matters with maturity and professionalism. Strong English communication skills and verbal proficiency in Kannada are mandatory. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and HRMS platforms such as PagarBook is preferred.
