The Sr. HR Business Partner β R&D APAC will serve as the primary strategic HR partner for Clearwater Analyticsβ Research & Development organization across the Asia-Pacific region, including India, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, and Japan. Based in Mumbai and reporting to the HR Head of India, this senior individual contributor role will partner with R&D leadership to build and execute people strategies that drive organizational effectiveness, talent excellence, and a high-performance culture across multiple markets.
The role involves serving as a strategic HR advisor to senior R&D leaders by translating business priorities into effective people initiatives. The professional will provide insights on APAC people strategy, talent trends, workforce planning, and competitive intelligence to support engineering and technology growth objectives.
Responsibilities include leading talent management processes such as annual talent reviews, succession planning, career development frameworks, and high-potential identification. The role will partner with Talent Acquisition teams to define workforce plans, hiring strategies, role structures, technical career paths, and compensation benchmarking frameworks across diverse APAC talent markets.
The Sr. HR Business Partner will design and drive employee engagement strategies, identify retention and engagement improvement opportunities through surveys and feedback channels, promote inclusion and psychological safety, and support managers with onboarding, integration, and retention of engineering talent.
The position will guide R&D managers on performance management, feedback frameworks, employee relations, and improvement planning while ensuring alignment with local employment regulations including Indiaβs Labour Codes and POSH Act, Singaporeβs Employment Act, Australiaβs Fair Work Act, Hong Kongβs Employment Ordinance, and Japanβs Labour Standards Act. The role also includes coaching managers on people leadership practices and building high-performing teams.
The professional will support organizational design, workforce restructuring, and change management initiatives while collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence including Compensation, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, and HR Operations. The role also involves designing and delivering high-impact HR initiatives, tracking people metrics including headcount trends, attrition, capability gaps, and engagement scores, and providing data-driven recommendations to leadership.
The ideal candidate should have strategic business acumen, strong consulting and influencing skills, experience handling HR operations across APAC markets, knowledge of HRIS platforms such as Workday, strong analytical abilities, change management experience, executive communication skills, and excellent stakeholder management capabilities.
Candidates should have a Bachelorβs degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field. MBA or Masterβs in HRM is preferred. SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification is an advantage. The candidate should have 12+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 6β7 years in an HRBP role supporting Engineering, Product, or Technology functions in a global organization. Experience partnering with senior R&D or technology leadership in SaaS or technology companies and managing employee relations, organizational design, and talent management across multiple APAC regions is preferred.
