Glean is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Analyst with a strong background in US payroll operations. The Senior US Payroll Analyst plays a critical role in delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll across the US and CA workforce. This position ensures seamless execution of end-to-end payroll activities while maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
Key responsibilities include leading full-cycle bi-monthly payroll processing for multi-state US employees and CA employees, ensuring accuracy for all pay types including regular pay, overtime, bonuses, commissions, retro payouts, and one-time transactions.
The role requires conducting rigorous pre- and post-payroll audits to verify pay, taxes, deductions, and compliance before disbursement. The candidate will reconcile payroll results with HRIS data and general ledger to ensure alignment with accounting and finance requirements.
The selected candidate must maintain deep knowledge of US payroll compliance requirements including federal, state, and local tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and reporting obligations. Responsibilities include preparing and supporting payroll tax filings, compliance reports, audits, and assisting with remediation of tax notices and discrepancies.
The role involves ensuring accurate handling of garnishments, benefit deductions, and statutory withholdings in payroll processes. The Senior Payroll Analyst will liaise with third-party payroll vendors, tax advisors, and compliance partners to ensure SLAs are met and issues are resolved efficiently.
Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining payroll process documentation countrywise, including SOPs and internal controls. The role partners closely with HR, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Benefits, and People Operations teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and alignment with business needs.
The analyst will provide payroll support to employees and internal teams, prepare analytical payroll reports and insights for leadership, and work on payroll transformation projects and SOX/internal controls environments. Experience with equity compensation, stock plans, or global payroll processes is desirable.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of 8+ years of progressive payroll experience and strong emphasis on multi-state US payroll processing and compliance. Hands-on experience with Workday, ADP, Rippling, advanced Excel or Google Sheets, and payroll certifications such as CPP or FPC are advantageous.
This role follows a hybrid work model with three days a week in the Bangalore office and operates from 4 PM to 1 AM IST. Glean is committed to diversity, inclusion, and fostering AI fluency across its workforce.
