Job Description
Role Title: Deputy Manager β Payroll India
Location: Pune
Purpose of the Role
To support and manage end-to-end payroll operations for multiple legal entities which includes both blue collar and management staff payroll, ensuring accurate and timely salary processing, statutory compliance, reconciliation, and effective query resolution while coordinating closely with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end payroll which includes Full & Final settlement process for blue collar and white collar employees for multiple legal entities.
Prepare and validate salary payout files. Coordinate with banks and treasury teams for timely salary disbursement.
Perform monthly payroll reconciliation including salary registers vs. bank payouts.
Perform reconciliation of statutory deductions vs. returns.
Perform reconciliation of payroll vs. finance books.
Work closely with Finance for payroll posting and closure.
Provide payroll reports, accruals, and provisions including bonus, leave encashment, gratuity, and related payroll components.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
Support timely filing of returns including PF, ESI, PT, and TDS.
Assist in internal, external, and statutory audits.
Address employee payroll queries related to salary, tax, deductions, and benefits.
Provide clear and timely resolutions.
Maintain a high level of service orientation.
Generate payroll MIS reports including cost analysis, headcount, and variance reports.
Maintain payroll documentation, SOPs, and audit trails.
Support automation and process improvement initiatives.
Coordinate the development and changes in the Payroll System with the software provider.
Streamline ways of working by institutionalizing comprehensive SOPs and robust payroll-to-finance reconciliation frameworks, ensuring 100% accuracy in statutory filings including PF, ESI, and TDS and seamless internal and external audits.
Engineer advanced MIS reporting structures and variance analysis templates to provide leadership with real-time cost insights, enabling more proactive decision-making during month-end and year-end closures.

What You Bring
Postgraduate in Commerce. MBA in HR or Finance is preferred.
8β10 years of experience in managing payroll and financial compliances in medium or large organizations.
