Job Description
Athleaders is hiring a Head of People based in Hyderabad with responsibility for HR operations across Singapore, India and the UAE. Reporting directly to the Founders and Management Team, this leadership role will own the complete Human Resources function across all three markets. The successful candidate will consolidate all people responsibilities into a single professional HR function covering talent acquisition, onboarding, employee development, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, rewards, HR policies, governance and compliance. The primary objective is to build a workplace with high employee engagement, strong retention and low attrition while creating scalable HR systems to support business growth.
The role includes building and owning a long-term talent acquisition strategy, planning workforce requirements 6 to 12 months in advance, managing hiring budgets, role costing and salary benchmarking, standardising job descriptions, improving recruitment processes, conducting structured hiring, background verification and making offer calls for key positions.
The selected candidate will own the complete induction and onboarding process, ensuring every new employee has a successful first 3 to 6 months. Responsibilities include maintaining consistent onboarding policies across Singapore, India and the UAE, tracking probation outcomes, monitoring 90-day retention and improving the overall new hire experience.
The Head of People will build individual development plans for employees, implement succession planning, increase internal promotions, develop performance management frameworks, lead goal setting, performance reviews, feedback cycles and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
The role also includes building a positive workplace culture, driving employee engagement initiatives, reducing attrition, organising team engagement activities, handling employee relations and disciplinary matters, responding to employee queries related to salary, deductions and career growth and ensuring a healthy work environment.
The candidate will establish and manage a scalable HRMS, maintain HR master data, develop and review HR policies, ensure compliance with employment laws across multiple jurisdictions, build transparent HR processes, manage reward and recognition frameworks, maintain secure HR data and oversee payroll reviews, employment contracts, code of conduct acknowledgements and company insurance reviews.
As part of the leadership team, the Head of People will contribute to organisation design, people budgets, strategic planning and build an HR function capable of operating independently without founder involvement.
Candidates should have a proven track record of leading the HR or People function, preferably in a B2C or consumer-facing organisation, with 8+ years of progressive HR experience including team leadership. Strong expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll, HR operations, workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, HRMS implementation, HR analytics, compensation structures, employment practices across multiple countries and leadership is essential. Experience across Singapore, India and UAE labour practices will be an added advantage.
