S&P Global is hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist (India Coverage) for its Global Pay Services team in Gurugram. This is a full-time on-site opportunity for experienced payroll professionals to manage end-to-end India payroll operations while ensuring accuracy, statutory compliance, governance, and continuous process improvement. The Senior Payroll Specialist will own and execute end-to-end monthly India payroll processing across multiple legal entities, including regular payroll, bonuses, off-cycle payrolls, leave encashments, arrears, recoveries, and full and final settlements. The role includes performing payroll reviews, variance analysis, exception handling, approval readiness checks, resolving complex payroll issues, ensuring payroll activities are completed within governance frameworks, and maintaining high standards of payroll accuracy and compliance.
The role is responsible for managing all India payroll statutory requirements including Income Tax, TDS, quarterly withholding tax returns, annual withholding tax forms, Provident Fund, EPFO UAN lifecycle, ECR filings, ESIC, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, investment declarations, proof verification, tax recalculations, year-end processing, statutory notices, audits, inspections, regulatory queries, compliance risk identification, and implementation of preventive controls.
Additional responsibilities include partnering with Finance for payroll general ledger postings, reconciliations, accruals and month-end close activities, preparing payroll reports, statutory summaries, defect logs, supporting SOX and compliance audits, collaborating with HR, People Services, Finance, Tax, Mobility teams and payroll vendors, resolving employee payroll queries, ensuring payroll data integrity in Workday and payroll systems, identifying automation opportunities, supporting payroll transformation initiatives, labour code readiness, and adoption of technologies including Power BI, AI-enabled validations, Microsoft Power Automate, Advanced Excel, and Basic Python.
