Caterpillar Inc. is a global organization focused on building stronger and more sustainable communities through innovation and technology. The Human Resources Rep II role is part of the Financial Services HR - Global Finance Services Division and is based at the Whitefield Office, Bangalore.
The role involves assisting in the administration of various human resource services and functions within a facility, division, or shared services environment. Responsibilities include recruiting needs and planning, new employee orientation, liaising with Regional and Corporate Human Resources, and interacting with management and employees to resolve personnel, compensation, benefits, and HR-related issues.
The position interfaces with Corporate Human Resources, Compensation & Benefits, and Payroll personnel to support employee issues in areas such as performance management, relocations and international service employees, labor relations, communication of HR-related materials, employee opinion survey analysis, succession planning, governmental regulations, internal investigations, payroll administration, salary administration, time and attendance, PeopleSoft activities, learning initiatives, and HR metrics reporting.
In a Shared Services environment, the role acts as a liaison between process owners and service center groups to manage process changes and support new processes and customers. Additional responsibilities include Code of Conduct administration, EEO administration and investigations, temporary layoffs, EOS and pulse management, leave administration including medical and Family & Medical Leave Act cases, HR consulting, job evaluations, performance management, payroll and benefits support, reorganizations, learning initiatives, STIP administration, unemployment insurance claims processing, wage and benefit surveys, labor relations issues, process documentation, and HR analytics.
The incumbent works with process owners and governance councils to ensure appropriate approvals for process changes and updated documentation across service centers. The role requires evaluating problems, recommending solutions of limited to moderate complexity, and working under general direction while following established procedures.
Candidates should possess good knowledge of benefits, employment practices, compensation, payroll processes, and company policies. The role also requires the ability to manage learning interventions and excellent communication skills.
Desired communication competencies include delivering constructive feedback, listening effectively, making presentations, writing reports, avoiding unnecessary technical jargon, and interpreting non-verbal cues.
