Job Description
The HR Data Architecture and Governance Lead is responsible for establishing, leading, and evolving the organization's enterprise HR data governance framework to ensure high-quality, secure, compliant, and trusted data assets. The role partners with business, technology, and data teams to define governance policies, standards, processes, and stewardship models that support analytics, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. The position leads enterprise initiatives around data quality, metadata management, master data management (MDM), and data stewardship while promoting a strong data-driven culture across the organization.
Key responsibilities include defining and implementing the enterprise data governance strategy, framework, and operating model. The role establishes governance policies, standards, and procedures for data management while aligning governance initiatives with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and data strategy.
The incumbent will develop and oversee data quality frameworks, metrics, monitoring, and remediation processes. Responsibilities include ensuring consistent management of critical data elements and data lifecycle practices while leading initiatives to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems.
The role involves implementing and managing enterprise data catalog and metadata management solutions to ensure proper data lineage, data definitions, and business glossaries are maintained.
Additional responsibilities include establishing and managing data stewardship programs, defining steward roles and responsibilities, and facilitating governance councils and working groups across business units.
The candidate will ensure adherence to data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance requirements including GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, and SOX. Collaboration with legal, compliance, IT, and security teams is essential to mitigate data-related risks and safeguard sensitive information.
The role partners with business leaders, IT teams, analytics teams, and data owners to promote governance adoption while providing leadership to cross-functional data governance teams. The incumbent will evaluate and manage governance tools such as data catalog, lineage, and quality platforms while integrating governance processes within analytics environments and data pipelines.
The ideal candidate should promote best practices and continuous improvement in enterprise data management while demonstrating expertise in data governance leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder collaboration, and program management.
