The Senior Manager - Payroll will be responsible for leading end-to-end global payroll operations across multiple international locations including India, the United States, Singapore, and other regions. The role is part of the Finance function and works closely with People Operations, Legal, Tax, Accounting, FP&A, Accounts Payable, and external payroll providers to ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end payroll processing for global locations, overseeing payroll systems for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate payroll execution including regular payroll, off-cycle payments, bonuses, commissions, final settlements, statutory deductions, maintaining payroll data integrity across HRIS, payroll, and finance systems, ensuring compliance with payroll laws including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, Gratuity, CPF, payroll taxes, preparing statutory payroll filings including Form 24Q, Form 16, W-2, 1099, CPF submissions, monitoring changes in labor and tax regulations, preparing payroll journal entries, accruals, general ledger reconciliations, supporting month-end close activities, partnering with FP&A on headcount reporting, payroll forecasting and employee cost analysis, coordinating vendor payments with Accounts Payable, supporting management reporting, board reporting, due diligence activities, driving payroll process standardization, automation, payroll system enhancements, supporting new country payroll implementations, mergers and acquisitions, payroll integrations, acting as the escalation point for payroll issues, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders on compensation, benefits, equity administration, onboarding, employee separations, and payroll process improvements.
Candidates should possess strong expertise in global payroll management, payroll accounting, statutory compliance, HRIS, payroll systems, payroll transformation, payroll reporting, audit controls, general ledger reconciliation, compensation, employee benefits, FP&A collaboration, payroll taxation, process automation, stakeholder management, advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, payroll system implementation, multinational payroll operations, and payroll compliance across multiple countries. Experience with enterprise payroll platforms, global payroll aggregators, equity administration platforms such as Carta, ESOPs, RSUs, SOC controls, and payroll certifications such as CPP or FPC will be an added advantage.
