Job Description
Mate Technologies is looking for a high-judgment Hiring Partner with at least 2 years of experience who can help us consistently identify, evaluate, and hire strong people across roles including Engineering, Product, Growth, Testing, Design, and Operations. This is a retainer or part time job opportunity with remote work flexibility, offering a monthly retainer capacity of up to 40 hours per month where up to 10 unused hours may be carried forward to the immediately following month only, not exceeding 50 hours in any month. Your main responsibility will be hiring very high quality candidates by evaluating them through a structured and evidence-based process, and making clear hiring recommendations. You will also help us build and maintain a long-term talent pool, including passive candidates, so that we are not starting recruitment from zero whenever a position becomes available. People Operations responsibilities will be secondary. Requirements include understanding role objectives, scorecards, must-have traits, preferred traits, and success criteria before recruitment initiation. You will proactively identify and engage passive candidates through various sourcing channels, efficiently filter large candidate pools, ask strong follow-up questions to verify claims and distinguish actual evidence from confident answers, and evaluate profiles based on evidence rather than gut feeling. Additional responsibilities include identifying strengths, weaknesses, risks, and areas requiring deeper assessment, submitting structured evaluation reports, leveraging AI and automation tools to enhance recruitment workflows, and supporting selected People Operations tasks such as onboarding, performance-review coordination, contract tracking, employee documentation, and offboarding.
