This full-time opportunity is based at Ceres India in Bengaluru. The Payroll Lead will be responsible for managing end-to-end US payroll operations, governance, compliance, and payroll delivery while ensuring complete accuracy and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include managing weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll for multiple entities, overseeing payroll taxes, deductions, statutory filings, W-2 and W-2C reporting, amendments, conducting payroll audits, reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, supporting SOX controls and internal and external audits, collaborating with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders, ensuring accurate general ledger and tax reporting, enhancing payroll processes, implementing operational controls, driving continuous process improvements, monitoring payroll legislation and tax regulations, supporting payroll system enhancements, leading and mentoring payroll team members, and ensuring continuous knowledge development. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field with 8 to 12 years of experience in US payroll operations including end-to-end payroll management, audits, compliance, and multi-state US payroll processing. Strong knowledge of US payroll laws, employment tax regulations, payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom or similar platforms, payroll audits, reconciliations, analytical problem-solving, stakeholder management, and process automation is essential. Experience in GCC or global payroll environments and exposure to SOX compliance and audit frameworks will be an added advantage.
