WaterAid India is working to improve the quality of life of 5 million households by enabling access to climate-resilient and sustainable Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services. Through demonstration, institution strengthening, and effective utilisation of public resources, WAI helps communities gain access to clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene, creating lasting and sustainable change.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Director – People will lead the organisation’s people strategy and shape a purpose-driven, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
The role will drive organisational development, talent and succession management, culture transformation, employee engagement, safeguarding, and people governance. The Director – People will ensure the organisation remains an employer of choice and is equipped with the capabilities required to deliver its mission and long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute the overall people strategy aligned with organisational goals.
Drive organisational development initiatives and culture transformation.
Manage talent management, succession planning, and leadership development programs.
Enhance employee engagement and build a high-performing workplace culture.
Strengthen people governance and safeguarding practices.
Support HR technology transformation including HR ERP implementation and people analytics.
Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders to deliver strategic HR initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience:
Experienced HR leader with expertise in talent management, organisational development, performance management, employee engagement, and leadership development.
Strong ability to lead organisational change, build high-performing teams, and drive culture transformation.
Excellent business partnering, stakeholder management, and people leadership capabilities.
Experience in HR technology transformation, including HR ERP implementation and people analytics.
