The HR Manager will act as a trusted partner by providing local HR support to people leaders across business areas and functions including Automation Solutions, Tissue, Strategy and Transformation (IT). The role focuses on enabling people leaders to successfully manage their teams in accordance with Valmet Leadership Principles while ensuring a consistent One Valmet approach.
The position is responsible for supporting and executing global and local HR processes and initiatives while ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements and company policies. The HR Manager will own employee lifecycle activities including employment contracts, onboarding, salary reviews, warnings, disciplinary actions, termination processes, leaves, and employee documentation.
The role includes preparing, reviewing, and issuing HR documents such as employment contracts, disciplinary letters, separation letters, and other employee-related documentation while ensuring accuracy and legal compliance. The candidate will drive Valmet people processes including performance and development reviews, salary reviews, incentive programs, local benefits, engagement surveys, and succession planning according to company policies and local legislation.
The HR Manager will support cross-border assignments including short-term and expatriate assignments in coordination with Valmet Global Mobility team, home payroll teams, and Valmet India Finance.
The selected candidate will guide and advise people leaders on HR policies, employee relations, and people management practices to ensure unified employee experiences across the organization. The role involves supporting managers in handling employee relations matters including organizational changes, performance concerns, conduct issues, and workplace challenges while promoting fair, consistent, and respectful employee relations practices.
The position requires ensuring compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, and internal HR policies. The HR Manager will maintain accurate employee records and documentation according to internal audit and compliance standards, act as the first point of contact for HR compliance matters, and support audits and internal reviews when required.
The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement of HR processes, tools, ways of working, and data quality across HR systems. The HR Manager will collaborate with regional and global People and Culture teams to implement HR initiatives effectively and support change management projects.
Key stakeholders include people leaders and employees across Automation Solutions, Tissue, and Strategy and Transformation (IT) business functions in Valmet India. The role requires collaboration with HR Business Partners, HR Managers, Generalists, Specialists, Global Mobility teams, external partners such as ADP and immigration vendors, and relevant authorities for compliance matters.

Experience: Overall 12+ years of experience in people operations, HR operations, and employee lifecycle management with minimum 7 years of strong hands-on experience in guiding and supporting people leaders on employee lifecycle and people management topics. Experience working in global business environments and international matrix organizations is preferred.
Education: Graduate or postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field.
