The Senior HRIS Specialist Core HCM will act as the subject matter expert for Workday Core HCM, focusing on HR process optimization, data quality, validation frameworks, automated document generation, and operational excellence. The role will partner with HR, Payroll, IT, vendors, and system stakeholders to ensure Workday delivers accurate, scalable, and compliant HR services.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Core HCM Ownership
Lead the design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday Core HCM employee lifecycle processes.
Ensure Workday processes support accurate, efficient, and user-friendly HR operations.
Manage existing Workday HCM processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Process Optimization
Analyze current HR processes, identify inefficiencies, and design streamlined Workday-driven solutions.
Implement automation initiatives including document generation and process improvements to reduce manual efforts and errors.
Drive continuous improvement across HR technology operations.
Data Quality and Validation
Develop and implement data governance frameworks, validation rules, reconciliation processes, and exception handling mechanisms.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of Workday data across HR systems and downstream applications.
Support data remediation activities and maintain high standards of data integrity.
Document Generation and Templates
Design, build, and maintain automated document generation templates within Workday or integrated platforms.
Manage generation of documents including offer letters, employment contracts, HR reports, and other employee documents.
Ensure documents meet compliance, consistency, and localization requirements.
Reporting and Analytics
Create advanced Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics to monitor data quality, process performance, KPIs, and audit requirements.
Use calculated fields and data transformations to support validation and reporting requirements.
Provide insights through HR data analysis.
Testing and Release Management
Lead end-to-end testing activities for Workday configuration changes, business process updates, and system releases.
Prepare test plans, manage user acceptance testing, conduct regression testing, and document results.
Support change control processes and rollback planning.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as the key point of contact between HR teams, IT teams, vendors, and external partners.
Translate business requirements into effective Workday system solutions.
Build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
Operational Excellence
Maintain process documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and system guidelines.
Support HR operations teams through training and knowledge sharing.
Promote best practices in Workday usage and administration.
Continuous Improvement
Monitor Workday release updates and evaluate new features.
Drive adoption of enhancements that improve automation, data integrity, and employee experience.
Support innovation within HR technology processes.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Extensive hands-on experience with Workday Core HCM configuration, business process framework, calculated fields, and report writing.
Strong experience in HR data governance, validation frameworks, reconciliation processes, and data remediation.
Experience building automated document templates and generation processes within Workday or integrated document platforms.
Understanding of Workday business objects, integration concepts, and collaboration with technical teams and vendors.
Advanced analytical skills with experience in test planning, UAT, regression testing, and documentation.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior team members.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
5+ years of Workday Core HCM experience with increasing responsibility.
