Nua is hiring an Associate Director - People and Culture for its Mumbai office. This is a full-time on-site opportunity. Nua is a digital-first omnichannel women's wellness brand serving nearly 20 lakh women and girls every month through period care, maternity care, skincare, intimate care products, and digital wellness solutions including its Period Tracker App and SecretKeeper chat. The Associate Director - People and Culture will lead the organization's complete people strategy by overseeing Human Resources Operations, Human Resources Business Partnering, and Talent Acquisition teams while directly driving Rewards, Compliance, Capability Development, Human Resource Information Systems, employee engagement, and organizational culture. The role will be responsible for designing scalable people systems, processes, and organizational structures that support business growth while maintaining the company's culture and talent quality.
The selected candidate will build and execute the people roadmap for organizational growth, partner with leadership on organization design, workforce planning, role clarity, career paths, and hiring priorities aligned with business objectives. The role includes leading, mentoring, and developing Human Resources Operations, Business Partnering, and Talent Acquisition teams, defining team structures, establishing goals, operational rhythms, and quality standards across all people functions.
Responsibilities include driving the Talent Acquisition strategy by improving hiring processes, employer branding, candidate experience, structured hiring frameworks, interview processes, assessment methods, and leadership hiring. The candidate will design compensation philosophy, salary structures, market benchmarking, annual increment and bonus cycles, incentive programs including variable pay and ESOPs where applicable, and employee benefits strategies while managing budgets and employee experience.
The role requires ensuring statutory compliance with Provident Fund, Employees' State Insurance Corporation, Gratuity, Shops and Establishments Act, Contract Labour Regulation and Abolition Act, Prevention of Sexual Harassment regulations, and other applicable labour laws. The candidate will oversee HR audits, policy development, governance frameworks, compliance documentation, and employee lifecycle controls.
The Associate Director will lead capability development initiatives including manager development, leadership readiness, functional skill development, performance management, goal setting, performance reviews, calibration, succession planning, talent reviews, Human Resource Information Systems implementation, Applicant Tracking Systems, payroll platforms, automation initiatives, people analytics, employee engagement strategies, onboarding, recognition programs, and employee relations while preserving Nua's organizational culture and values.
Candidates should have 10 to 12 years of Human Resources experience with at least 3 years of experience leading Human Resources teams or sub-functions in consumer brands, e-commerce, direct-to-consumer businesses, or startup organizations. Applicants should hold an MBA or PGDM in Human Resources from a reputed institute or an equivalent qualification. Candidates must possess strong experience across Talent Acquisition, Human Resources Business Partnering, Rewards, Compliance, Human Resources Operations, labour law compliance, Human Resource Information Systems, Applicant Tracking Systems, people analytics, stakeholder management, and organizational scaling. Exposure to Employee Stock Ownership Plan design and administration will be an added advantage.
