Job Description
The organization is hiring a Head HR & IR for its Mumbai location. The role is designed for a senior HR leader with extensive experience managing large blue-collar and frontline workforces across India. The selected candidate will lead Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, workforce planning, recruitment, statutory compliance, and people strategy while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end HR strategy for a large blue-collar and frontline workforce.
Manage a workforce of more than 10,000 employees across on-roll and off-roll categories.
Drive high-volume recruitment through vendor-led sourcing and hiring models.
Oversee pan-India HR operations while managing state-specific statutory compliance and cultural requirements.
Lead Industrial Relations and Employee Relations including grievance handling and labour dispute resolution.
Manage manpower budgets with a strong understanding of their impact on business profitability and P&L.
Drive workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with labour laws and statutory regulations across multiple locations.
Leverage HRIS and HRMS platforms along with workforce analytics to monitor headcount, attrition, productivity, and manpower costs.
Partner with senior business leaders to develop scalable people strategies.
Requirements
15–18+ years of overall Human Resources experience.
Minimum 5–7 years of leadership experience managing a large blue-collar, frontline, or minimum-wage workforce.
Proven experience managing a workforce of more than 10,000 employees across on-roll and off-roll categories.
Strong experience in high-volume recruitment for frontline and minimum-wage roles.
Experience managing vendor-led recruitment and hiring engines.
Strong experience managing pan-India HR operations.
Hands-on experience in Industrial Relations and Employee Relations.
Experience handling grievance management and labour dispute resolution.
Strong understanding of manpower budgeting and P&L impact.
Experience in BFSI, Payments, Logistics, Retail, FMCG, Telecom Infrastructure, Facility Management, Staffing, BPO, or E-commerce Last-Mile industries is preferred.
Working knowledge of HRIS, HRMS, and workforce analytics.
MBA in Human Resources is mandatory.
Additional qualification in Labour Laws is desirable.
