About the Role
An executive leadership opportunity is available for a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) based in Pune, reporting directly to the Founders and the Board. This position spearheads organizational scale, workforce transformation, and people strategy across advanced agriculture, supply chain, and corporate verticals. The leader will establish high-performance cultures, drive workforce inclusion, and align HR strategies with aggressive multi-site expansion across Maharashtra and India.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Leadership Scope
Strategy
Developing and executing a scalable people strategy aligned to aggressive business expansion across regional operational centers and national markets.
Partnering closely with founders and executive leadership to align talent architecture with organizational scale.
Engagement and Culture
Driving comprehensive employee engagement programs to build an inclusive, progressive, and healthy workplace environment.
Championing gender diversity initiatives and establishing leadership development pathways for emerging local talent.
Compliance and Safety
Overseeing end-to-end statutory compliance, workplace safety frameworks, and labor law governance tailored to modern farming operations and manufacturing facilities.
Maintaining full adherence to safety, social security, and industrial employment standards across all operating locations.
Talent Acquisition and Capability Building
Leading end-to-end talent acquisition strategies, talent pipelining, and capability-building frameworks for rapidly expanding teams across farm operations, urban supply chain units, and corporate offices.
Designing continuous learning, development, and onboarding structures that accelerate productivity.
Performance Management and Total Rewards
Designing competitive performance management systems, appraisal cycles, and compensation and benefits frameworks.
Structuring incentive models to attract, motivate, and retain top talent across specialized technical, field-level agronomy, and corporate commercial functions.
Automation and HR Technology
Spearheading digital HR transformation, process automation, advanced workforce analytics, and HRMS implementation across a tech-enabled enterprise.
Modernizing daily HR operations to support multi-site distributed teams seamlessly.
Employee Welfare and Community Inclusion
Executing comprehensive employee welfare programs, healthcare initiatives, and upskilling modules for operational ground teams and farm personnel.
Placing focused emphasis on empowering women and under-represented communities within the operational workforce.
Advisory and Succession Planning
Serving as a trusted strategic advisor to the founders and board of directors regarding executive talent, organizational culture stewardship, and leadership succession planning.
Operations and Multi-Site Governance
Directing day-to-end HR operations, employee relations, grievance redressal mechanisms, and corporate HR policy deployment across multi-site processing facilities and farm sites.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
Holds a Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration (MBA), or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Possesses 12 to 20 years of proven human resources leadership experience across agritech, food processing, FMCG, manufacturing, or high-growth startup ventures.
Demonstrated track record in building gender-diverse and inclusive workplaces, with prior success in managing operations featuring high female workforce participation preferred.
Extensive experience managing multi-site, distributed HR operations across both rural agricultural sites and metropolitan corporate offices.
Proven expertise in implementing HR automation, modernizing HRMS infrastructure, and optimizing organizational processes during high-growth phases.
Exceptional stakeholder management, strategic vision, executive presence, and people leadership capabilities.
