The India Subject Matter Expert (HR Operations) will serve as the primary expert for statutory compliance, payroll input accuracy and HR operations across the organization. The role is responsible for end-to-end execution and advisory support on Indian labour law compliance, payroll inputs, employee lifecycle management and HR process improvements while working closely with HR Business Partners, Global Payroll, Legal and business stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing payroll inputs such as new joiners, exits, salary changes, loss of pay, arrears and full and final settlements while ensuring compliance with local laws and resolving payroll discrepancies. The role will support compliance with the POSH Act including Internal Committee coordination, reporting, case management support and awareness training. The position is responsible for maintaining statutory registers, ensuring timely statutory filings including PF ECR, ESI challans, Professional Tax returns, Labour Welfare Fund and annual Shops and Establishment returns, supporting labour and statutory audits, coordinating with legal teams and external consultants on labour law updates and acting as the internal subject matter expert for statutory compliance. The role also manages onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, HR documentation and statutory compliance related to employee lifecycle processes. The candidate will maintain and enhance HRIS platforms including Workday and ServiceNow, improve data quality, support statutory reporting, partner with IT for system implementation and troubleshooting, evaluate HR operations processes for automation and standardization, reduce compliance risks, partner with HRBPs, Legal, Finance and business leaders, resolve employee queries related to HR operations, payroll and policies, monitor ServiceNow dashboards, track SLA and KPI performance, conduct quality checks and lead continuous process improvements. The role is also responsible for interpreting and implementing India's Four Labour Codes including the Wage Code, Social Security Code, Industrial Relations Code and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code while leading policy redesign, transformation initiatives and compliance readiness. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with an MBA or Master's in HR preferred. Applicants should possess 5 to 7 years of HR Operations experience with strong expertise in Indian statutory compliance, labour laws, payroll operations, statutory audits, HRIS systems including Workday and ServiceNow, analytical ability, communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
