The HR Manager - Global Businesses & Functions role will report to the HR Director, Global Business & Functions (GBF) and will act as a key HR Advisor to People Managers, teams and employees. The role will primarily support assigned businesses and functions in the India region and will be part of the broader HR Advisory team supporting 1600+ Global Services employees.
The position will be responsible for providing HR advice to senior management, people managers and teams on various HR matters. The role will work closely with Global Services HR Business Partners and Talent Partners to drive HR strategy while managing HR operations, stakeholder relationships, employee support and strategic HR initiatives.
As a key business advisor and subject matter expert, this role will support assigned business and functional teams through business knowledge, relationship management and proactive HR interventions. The position plays a critical role in creating a culture where employees feel valued, supported and empowered to manage their careers while contributing towards BCG’s business objectives.
The role requires extensive collaboration with HR Business Partners, Talent Partners, Core HR Delivery teams, Regional Partners and Operational Centers of Excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Advisory:
Provide guidance and advice to management, teams and employees on people-related topics including career planning, performance management, coaching, compensation, legal risk mitigation, employee relations and learning and development. Develop and maintain effective relationships with aligned business groups, HR teams and the broader HR community.
Technical Expertise and Coaching:
Coach employees and managers on complex HR matters including policies, processes and employee lifecycle activities. Provide deep technical knowledge and local HR expertise to support employees throughout their journey at BCG.
Employee Relations:
Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters within assigned businesses and functions. Provide expert guidance on workplace conflicts, grievances, resolution strategies, effective communication and initiatives to build a positive culture and employee engagement.
Compliance with Employment Laws and Regulations:
Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. Stay updated with legal changes and integrate them into HR policies and practices. Support employees and managers with HR policies and procedures while ensuring consistent implementation.
Performance Management:
Support performance review processes by ensuring fairness, transparency and compliance. Manage performance improvement plans and related activities end-to-end.
Training and Development:
Provide insights to HR Business Partners on development requirements and support the design and execution of locally led training initiatives.
Career Development:
Support employee career development through career framework guidance, learning opportunities, capability building initiatives and manager coaching.
HR Processes:
Ensure seamless execution of employee lifecycle processes including year-end reviews, compensation cycles, organizational transformation activities and other HR operations while maintaining compliance standards.
Business Understanding and Continuous Improvement:
Understand business objectives and market trends to recommend improvements in HR approaches, policies and procedures. Identify opportunities to leverage technology and improve HR efficiency.
Key HR Initiatives:
Participate in and lead assigned HR projects and initiatives while collaborating with different HR functions and business stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring:
Preferred 8+ years of experience in HR/People Advisory, consulting or professional services environment.
MBA or specialization in Human Resources, Organization Development or related field.
Strong HR generalist experience with understanding of local geography and employment regulations.
Deep knowledge of HR practices including performance management, talent management, employee engagement, compensation and employee relations.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong judgement and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively in an intellectually challenging, service-oriented and matrix-structured organization.
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across all organizational levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
