Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager ā Human Resources will support the complete spectrum of HR activities for airport operations, including manpower planning, recruitment, statutory compliance, employee lifecycle management, industrial relations, training, employee engagement, payroll support, and HR process implementation. The role will act as a key liaison between airport operations and the corporate HR team to ensure a compliant, productive, and motivated workforce capable of delivering service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Workforce Planning
Partner with operations teams to forecast manpower requirements across multiple shifts.
Drive recruitment for ground staff, parking attendants, supervisors, and support teams.
Coordinate with recruitment agencies, job portals, and internal referral networks to meet hiring targets.
Manage onboarding, ID card generation, and background verification in coordination with airport authorities.
HR Operations and Employee Lifecycle Management
Manage employee onboarding, exits, transfers, confirmations, promotions, and contract renewals.
Maintain employee records, contracts, and HR documentation in accordance with audit standards.
Support monthly payroll by verifying attendance, leave records, overtime, and related payroll inputs.
Track probation periods, employee confirmations, and contract renewals.
Industrial Relations and Grievance Handling
Manage employee relations for blue-collar and contractual workforce with professionalism and fairness.
Coordinate with security, operations teams, and external agencies in disciplinary matters and dispute resolution.
Maintain healthy employee relations and ensure timely grievance resolution.
Statutory Compliance and Audits
Ensure compliance with Provident Fund, Employee State Insurance, Gratuity, Labour Laws, Minimum Wages Act, and other applicable employment regulations.
Handle statutory inspections, maintain compliance registers, and coordinate with legal consultants.
Ensure the airport site remains audit-ready at all times.
Employee Engagement and Welfare
Plan and execute employee engagement activities, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and employee welfare activities.
Conduct monthly open houses, employee feedback sessions, and engagement programs to improve morale and reduce attrition.
Training and Development
Conduct induction programs, safety training, customer service training, and behavioral development programs for employees.
Coordinate with internal teams and external training partners to deliver skill development initiatives.
Maintain training calendars, attendance records, and evaluate training effectiveness.
HR Reporting and MIS
Prepare HR dashboards, manpower reports, attrition reports, recruitment status reports, and HR analytics.
Submit weekly and monthly reports to management and clients.
Utilize HRMS platforms for employee data management, reporting, and communication.
Requirements:
MBA or PGDM in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
4 to 7 years of HR Operations experience, preferably in Facilities Management, Airport Services, Logistics, or Retail industries.
Strong knowledge of labour laws, employment regulations, statutory compliance, and HR best practices.
Hands-on experience managing large blue-collar workforces.
Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong Microsoft Excel, reporting, documentation, and HRMS skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced 24x7 operational environment.
