HealOn is committed to empowering experienced nurses to achieve their global career aspirations by preparing them for international placement in leading hospitals across the UK and US. The organization bridges the gap between clinical excellence and the professional, interpersonal, communication, and cultural standards required by global healthcare systems. HealOn helps skilled nurses develop the confidence, professional polish, and workplace readiness required to succeed in international healthcare environments.
HealOn is looking for a warm, patient, empathetic, and highly skilled Soft Skills / Etiquette Trainer to prepare experienced nurses for the professional and cultural expectations of hospitals in the UK and US. While the nurses bring strong clinical expertise, many may have limited exposure to structured professional etiquette, workplace courtesy norms, and the interpersonal standards expected in UK/US healthcare settings. Some learners may also have communication confidence gaps and Mother Tongue Influence (MTI).
The trainer will be expected to teach professional conduct and etiquette from the fundamentals upward, with patience, empathy, encouragement, and a non-judgmental approach. The objective is to help learners become confident and comfortable with professional behaviors without making them feel judged or inadequate.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver soft skills and etiquette training covering workplace courtesy, professional conduct, grooming and presentation, telephone and email etiquette, dining etiquette, and cross-cultural workplace norms.
Teach professional behavior systematically from the basics, including greetings, body language, active listening, punctuality, workplace hierarchy, teamwork, and professional communication.
Train nurses on patient interaction etiquette, bedside manner, handling difficult conversations, and communicating with empathy and professionalism in clinical environments.
Coach learners on cross-cultural awareness and workplace expectations specific to UK and US hospital environments, including hierarchy, communication directness, small talk, inclusivity norms, and professional workplace behavior.
Conduct role-plays, mock scenarios, and real-world simulations such as handling patient complaints, speaking with consultants, participating in ward handovers, and managing workplace interactions to build practical confidence.
Work closely with language and communication trainers to reinforce professional etiquette alongside spoken English and MTI-neutralization efforts. Recognize that confidence in professional etiquette and confidence in communication often develop together.
Provide individualized coaching and constructive, encouraging feedback. Be mindful that many learners may require repeated practice and additional reassurance before new behaviors become natural and consistent.
Create a safe, non-judgmental, and encouraging classroom environment where experienced nurses can practice unfamiliar professional behaviors without fear of embarrassment.
Track individual learner progress, identify recurring gaps, and adapt the curriculum, pace, and teaching approach according to learner needs.
Maintain training records and report learner readiness, progress, and outcomes to the training and program management team.
Continuously update training content based on evolving professional and cultural expectations at partner hospitals in the UK and US.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Hospitality Management, Education, or a related field.
Certification in Soft Skills Training, Corporate/Business Etiquette, or Image Consulting is preferred.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience delivering soft skills, etiquette, professional finishing, or similar training. Experience working with healthcare professionals or other first-time-abroad professional cohorts is preferred.
Experience training learners with limited prior exposure to professional or corporate environments, with the ability to teach fundamentals patiently and respectfully.
Familiarity with UK and/or US hospital workplace culture, hierarchy, and patient-interaction norms will be a strong advantage.
Exposure to learners with Mother Tongue Influence or communication confidence gaps is highly desirable.
Key Skills & Attributes:
Empathy and patience, with a genuine non-judgmental approach toward learners unfamiliar with basic professional courtesies and comfort in repeating and reinforcing fundamentals as required.
Strong cultural sensitivity and awareness of the cultural and linguistic backgrounds of nurses and how these factors can influence communication and workplace behavior.
Strong facilitation skills and the ability to make etiquette training practical, relatable, and comfortable through role-play and real-life scenarios.
Excellent communication skills with a clear, warm, encouraging communication style and the ability to model the etiquette being taught.
Strong observational and coaching skills with the ability to identify gaps in courtesy, body language, communication, or presentation and provide private, constructive coaching.
Adaptability and the ability to adjust teaching pace and style for learners with different starting points and learning needs.
Strong trust-building skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with experienced and senior professionals who may feel vulnerable while learning professional basics for the first time.
Key Focus Areas of Training:
Professional greetings, introductions, and workplace courtesy.
Body language, eye contact, and active listening.
Punctuality, professionalism, and workplace hierarchy norms.
Telephone, email, and written communication etiquette.
Patient interaction etiquette and bedside manner.
Handling feedback, conflict, and difficult conversations gracefully.
Grooming, professional presentation, and dining etiquette.
Cross-cultural adaptability for UK and US hospital environments.
What Success Looks Like:
Nurses demonstrate visibly improved confidence, courtesy, and professionalism during mock and real-world scenarios. The training should reduce hesitation and discomfort during workplace and patient-interaction situations.
Success will also be measured through positive feedback from clinical trainers and partner hospitals regarding candidate readiness and the ability of nurses to meet the professional and interpersonal standards expected by UK and US hospitals.

Competitive salary based on experience.
Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on nurses' global career journeys.
Collaborative and mission-driven work environment.
