Seaspan's fleet has evolved over time to meet the varying needs of its customer base. The company owns vessels in a wide range of sizes, from 2,500 TEU to 24,000 TEU. Its main operating offices are located in Singapore, Vancouver, Hong Kong, and Mumbai.
The Recruitment Officer manages the full-cycle recruitment of seafarers to attract competent and qualified candidates to join the company. This position works closely with recruitment team members, hiring managers, and regional crewing offices.
The role requires familiarity with the Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Policy and understanding responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS). The candidate must understand the duty to report environmental noncompliance or concerns to management through established reporting systems.
Key responsibilities include conducting full-cycle recruiting of seafarers and cadets including interviews, selection, reference checks, predictive index analysis, marlins tests, offers, negotiations, closing, and administrative processes in line with company guidelines and compensation policies.
The selected candidate will assist in campus recruiting programs to attract future talent and support organizing road shows, trade fairs, and university recruitment programs, including managing print materials and banners.
The role involves developing and executing sourcing plans using traditional and nontraditional sources. Candidates will network through industry contacts, associations, trade groups, job portals, and employee referrals to identify and source active and passive candidates.
Responsibilities include managing, monitoring, and measuring the performance of candidates, institutes, trade tests, and Manning Partners while maintaining strong working relationships. The role also includes supporting strategic measures to improve overall team performance and conducting retention calls with employees.
The Recruitment Officer will leverage online recruiting resources including applicant tracking systems and social media to identify and recruit top talent. Staying informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques is essential to remain competitive in recruitment practices.
Additional responsibilities include preparing management reports on recruiting activities and supporting recruitment effectiveness across the organization.
