Glean is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to manage and support international payroll operations with a primary focus on India, United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, and Australia. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations while ensuring adherence to country-specific statutory, tax, labor, and reporting requirements. The position plays a critical role in payroll governance, payroll validation controls, reconciliations, compliance management, payroll accounting, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.
The selected candidate will manage end-to-end payroll processing across international entities, ensuring payroll accuracy, completeness, compliance, and timely salary disbursement. Responsibilities include reviewing payroll inputs received from HR, People Operations, Benefits, Equity, and Finance teams, validating payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, commissions, benefit updates, stock transactions, tax updates, and one-time adjustments.
The role involves conducting detailed payroll variance analysis, reviewing payroll output reports, validating taxes, deductions, statutory contributions, benefit deductions, retroactive calculations, and net pay accuracy. The candidate will ensure accurate processing of earnings, incentives, commissions, reimbursements, statutory payments, leave encashments, final settlements, and equity-related payroll transactions.
Additional responsibilities include performing payroll audits, reconciliations, payroll register to General Ledger reconciliations, investigating payroll-related accounting variances, supporting accounting close activities, and partnering with Finance and Accounting teams. The role also requires coordinating with actuarial consultants for gratuity and leave encashment valuations, reviewing valuation reports, preparing accrual schedules, and supporting audit requirements.
The candidate will maintain expertise in payroll regulations and statutory compliance requirements across India, United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, and Australia. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, gratuity, leave encashment, bonus regulations, PAYE, National Insurance, pension auto-enrollment, CPF, CPP, EI, PAYG withholding, superannuation, payroll tax, statutory reporting, and related labor law obligations.
The role requires managing relationships with payroll vendors, tax advisors, actuarial consultants, and compliance partners while preparing payroll reports, statutory filings, management reports, audit schedules, payroll analytics, and variance explanations. The candidate will support payroll system implementations, integrations, testing, automation initiatives, payroll transformation projects, and process improvement programs.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field along with a minimum of 8+ years of progressive payroll experience. Hands-on experience managing India payroll is mandatory, while experience supporting payroll operations in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, and Australia is highly desirable.
Candidates should have experience with enterprise payroll and HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, Rippling, or similar systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets including pivot tables, formulas, lookups, reconciliations, and payroll analytics is required. Experience in payroll accounting, statutory compliance, audit support, SOX controls, payroll vendor management, and multi-country payroll operations is essential. Exposure to equity compensation, stock plans, or global mobility payroll will be an added advantage.
