Job Description
Jefferies is seeking a Head of Human Resources for its newly established Global Capability Center (GCC) in Pune, India. This leadership role is responsible for building, scaling, and leading the complete people strategy for the GCC. The selected candidate will play a critical role in developing talent, shaping organizational culture, establishing governance structures, and implementing people operations frameworks that support a high-performing and innovation-driven global center.
The role involves establishing the HR operating model for the GCC aligned with Jefferies’ global people strategy while adapting it to the Pune labor market. The candidate will partner closely with GCC leadership to align HR priorities with business and delivery objectives. Responsibilities include managing the entire employee lifecycle including workforce planning, onboarding, performance management, compensation strategy, market benchmarking, employee relations, and organizational design.
The Head of HR will establish and continuously enhance organizational structures, role architecture, and capability frameworks that support scalable growth. The position serves as the primary HR advisor to the GCC Head and global technology leaders while partnering with the Global Head of HR, Asia Head of HR, Corporate Head of HR, and Global Head of Recruiting to ensure seamless integration with Jefferies’ global organizational model.
Additional responsibilities include representing the GCC HR function in governance committees and transformation programs, building and leading the GCC HR team, identifying and hiring HR talent, supporting comprehensive hiring strategies, workforce diversity initiatives, leadership hiring, recruitment governance, vendor management, and workforce capacity planning.
The role will partner with technology leaders to define and strengthen the GCC culture, localize global people policies, ensure compliance with Indian labor regulations, and implement employee engagement, leadership development, diversity, inclusion, and communication initiatives. The candidate will establish performance management frameworks, lead compensation and benefits strategies, collaborate on learning and development programs, and ensure HR governance, audit readiness, and compliance across all HR processes.
Candidates should possess more than 15 years of HR leadership experience within financial services, shared services, global operations, or GCC environments. Proven experience building HR functions from the ground up, strong knowledge of the Pune talent market, expertise in labor laws and employment regulations, stakeholder management capabilities, employee relations leadership, HR transformation experience, and change management expertise are essential.
