Job Description
The Phoenix Mills Ltd. is hiring a Manager – Payroll & Compliance for its HR & Admin Department in Mumbai. The role reports to GM - HR and is responsible for managing payroll operations, statutory compliance, labour compliance, compensation and benefits administration, employee settlements, insurance administration, gratuity, NPS, audits, MIS reporting and regulatory compliance. The candidate will manage payroll database maintenance, monitor attendance and leave records, ensure accurate salary calculations including statutory deductions such as Income Tax, Professional Tax, PF and ESI, coordinate salary disbursement with finance and banking partners, resolve employee payroll queries, and ensure salaries are credited on the last working day of every month. The role includes supervision of payroll processing activities, coordination with software vendors for payroll system enhancements, handling full and final settlements, working closely with PF and ESI consultants, coordinating audits, monitoring statutory and labour law changes, handling PF and ESI inspections, managing contractor compliance audits, maintaining relationships with government authorities, preparing MIS reports, ensuring timely filing of TDS returns, issuance of Form 16, mediclaim administration, gratuity policy renewals, NPS enrolments, actuarial valuation coordination, consultant payments and supporting annual appraisal cycles through compensation structure and increment letter generation. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in compensation structuring, labour laws, statutory compliance, income tax, liaison management and advanced Excel skills.
