The Payroll Lead will independently manage payroll operations, compensation structures, benefits administration, and statutory compliance for a fast-growing technology organization while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and a seamless employee experience.
Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end monthly payroll processing with timely salary disbursement. The role involves handling payroll inputs such as attendance, incentives, reimbursements, bonuses, variable pay, arrears, and full and final settlements.
The selected candidate will coordinate with finance and HR teams for payroll validation and reconciliation while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements including PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity, and other regulations. Responsibilities also include maintaining payroll records, audits, reports, and statutory documentation.
The role requires designing and managing salary structures, compensation frameworks, and employee benefit programs. Expertise in flexi basket structures, reimbursements, allowances, retention benefits, joining bonuses, and compensation planning is essential.
Additional responsibilities include handling annual compensation revisions, promotions, increments, and variable payout structures. The candidate will conduct salary benchmarking and market compensation analysis for technical and corporate roles while supporting leadership in compensation planning, budgeting, and policy alignment.
The position demands strong knowledge of payroll taxation, investment declarations, Form 16 processing, and income tax calculations. The role also includes supporting payroll audits, maintaining compliance documentation, resolving employee payroll queries, and ensuring confidentiality of compensation data.
The ideal candidate should possess advanced Excel skills, expertise in HRMS and payroll systems, strong analytical capabilities, and experience handling payroll for mid to large-scale organizations. Experience in IT, cloud, data center, or technology organizations is preferred, while exposure to startup or growth-stage environments is considered an advantage.
