Nicobar is hiring an HR Manager - Ops & Payroll Management for its People & Culture team in New Delhi. Founded in 2016 by Simran Lal and Raul Rai, Nicobar is a modern, design-led lifestyle brand from India focused on creating a contemporary Indian way of living, dressing and experiencing the world. Reporting to the Compensation & Benefits Lead, this role is responsible for driving HR operations, payroll management, compliance, performance management systems and employee lifecycle processes with high accuracy and efficiency. Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding, confirmations, transfers and exits, maintaining employee records and HR systems, supporting manpower planning and budgeting, tracking headcount against budgets and ensuring compliance with company policies. The role will own end-to-end payroll management for on-roll and off-roll employees, validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave, reimbursements and deductions, ensure timely salary disbursement, manage employee benefits such as Mediclaim and Personal Accident policies and oversee statutory compliance including PF, ESI, PT, Gratuity, Bonus and other labour law requirements. Additional responsibilities include managing full and final settlements, coordinating statutory filings, maintaining compliance documentation and monitoring regulatory updates. The position will also manage performance management cycles, probation confirmations, compensation revisions, increments, arrears and variable payouts while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. The candidate will build HR MIS dashboards, generate insights for leadership, coordinate internal and external audits, manage stakeholder relationships, resolve employee grievances related to payroll and compliance, and drive process improvements and automation initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in payroll, HR operations, labour laws, compliance, employee lifecycle management and HR analytics along with an AI-native mindset to improve efficiency and accuracy through automation.
