The International Benefits Lead plays a critical role in supporting the global workforce by delivering competitive, compliant, and employee-focused benefits programs across multiple countries and regions.
This role is responsible for ensuring employees worldwide have access to effective and well-managed benefits programs that support well-being, financial security, and overall employee experience. Working closely with HR, payroll, legal, finance, vendors, brokers, and regional stakeholders, the position contributes to operational excellence and consistency within McGraw Hillβs global benefits strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Global Benefits Operations
Support day-to-day administration of non-U.S. employee benefits programs across multiple countries and vendors.
Coordinate activities related to medical, life insurance, disability, retirement, wellness, and other employee benefits programs.
Manage employee benefit inquiries and escalations in collaboration with regional HR teams and vendors.
Support onboarding, benefit enrollment, life events, employee exits, and annual renewal processes.
Assist with implementation and transition activities for new or updated benefit programs.
Vendor & Broker Coordination
Act as a primary operational contact for international brokers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and external vendors.
Coordinate vendor meetings, issue resolution, documentation management, and follow-up activities.
Track policy renewals, documentation, invoices, and operational deliverables.
Monitor vendor performance and escalate service-related concerns when required.
Benefits Analysis & Program Support
Support benchmarking and market analysis activities.
Assist in evaluating regional benefits requests and market competitiveness.
Review local market practices and benefits trends across regions.
Support the development of recommendations for leadership review.
Ensure alignment with McGraw Hillβs global benefits governance model.
Compliance & Governance Support
Coordinate collection and maintenance of benefits-related documentation and compliance records.
Support local compliance activities in partnership with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Track country-specific requirements, filings, renewals, and employee communications.
Maintain consistency in documentation and operational standards across multiple countries.
Communications & Employee Experience
Draft and coordinate employee benefit communications, guides, and announcements.
Support regional HR teams with employee education materials and benefits awareness initiatives.
Develop standardized communication templates and operational processes.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure accurate and effective employee communications globally.
Reporting & Operational Analysis
Maintain benefits trackers, operational reports, and vendor data records.
Support invoice reconciliation, audit requests, and reporting requirements.
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and process efficiencies.
Track global timelines, deliverables, and project milestones across benefits programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelorβs Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Global Benefits, International HR Operations, or Benefits Administration.
Experience supporting non-U.S. employee benefits programs across multiple countries and regions.
Knowledge of international benefits operations, vendor management, and compliance coordination.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience working with global vendors, brokers, carriers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and HR systems.
Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting employee communications and process improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with Global Mobility programs or multinational benefits governance models.
