Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll, the Lead Specialist, Payroll - APAC will be responsible for managing payroll operations across multiple countries within the Asia-Pacific region. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing while partnering with HR, Finance, Employee Services, and global stakeholders to deliver an exceptional employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll processing across APAC countries while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely salary disbursement.
Process payroll components including base salary, stock compensation, taxes, statutory deductions, and employee benefits.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll close activities, including reviewing and approving journal entries.
Partner with HR, Finance, and Employee Services teams to deliver a seamless payroll experience.
Drive payroll process improvements and operational efficiencies to improve accuracy and consistency.
Ensure compliance with local payroll laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements across APAC countries.
Support payroll-related regulatory filings and compliance reporting.
Assist with payroll setup and implementation for new countries, entities, and payroll system deployments including Celergo implementations.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues and employee queries.
Maintain strong governance, payroll controls, and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
8–9 years of payroll experience with strong exposure to APAC payroll operations.
Hands-on experience managing end-to-end global payroll processes.
Strong knowledge of payroll operations across APAC countries including China, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, South Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Experience with payroll systems, preferably ADP solutions such as Celergo and GlobalView.
Good understanding of payroll accounting, statutory compliance, internal controls, and payroll governance.
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Ability to work across multiple time zones and manage competing priorities effectively.
