Glean is hiring a Senior Payroll Analyst to manage and support international payroll operations with a primary focus on India, United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, and Australia. The role is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll while ensuring adherence to country-specific statutory, tax, labour, and reporting requirements. You will manage end-to-end payroll operations, payroll governance, payroll validation controls, reconciliations, statutory compliance, payroll accounting, process optimization, and collaborate with HR, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Benefits, external payroll vendors, and actuarial partners.
Key responsibilities include managing complete payroll processing for international entities, validating payroll inputs received from HRIS, HR, Benefits, Equity, and Finance teams, reviewing payroll changes such as new hires, exits, salary revisions, bonuses, commissions, leave payouts, benefit updates, stock transactions, tax changes, and one-time payments before payroll submission. You will perform payroll variance analysis, review payroll output reports, validate employee pay, taxes, statutory deductions, benefit deductions, retro calculations, reimbursements, leave encashments, final settlements, and ensure payroll accuracy before sign-off.
The role also includes conducting pre-payroll and post-payroll audits, payroll reconciliations, General Ledger reconciliations, accrual validation, payroll accounting, resolving accounting variances, coordinating with actuarial consultants for gratuity and leave encashment valuations, reviewing actuarial reports, preparing payroll accrual schedules, supporting financial close activities, and ensuring statutory compliance across multiple countries.
You will maintain expertise in India payroll regulations including PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, gratuity, leave encashment, labour laws, bonus compliance, along with UK PAYE, National Insurance, pension auto-enrolment, HMRC reporting, Singapore CPF, Canada CPP and EI, Australia Superannuation, PAYG, STP reporting, payroll tax, and Fair Work compliance. The role requires partnering with payroll vendors, tax advisors, compliance partners, HR, Legal, Accounting, Benefits, and People Operations while preparing payroll reports, audit schedules, management reports, payroll analytics, statutory filings, SOPs, payroll calendars, internal controls, and supporting payroll system implementations, integrations, automation initiatives, and process improvements.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field with at least eight years of progressive payroll experience. Hands-on experience managing India payroll is mandatory while exposure to UK, Singapore, Canada, and Australia payroll is preferred. Experience with Workday, ADP, Rippling, or similar HRIS and payroll systems, advanced Excel and Google Sheets, payroll accounting, reconciliations, statutory reporting, payroll controls, vendor management, payroll audits, compliance environments, and excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills are essential.
