As the Mumbai office continues to grow, the company is looking for a hands-on HR professional who can independently manage the employee experience while partnering closely with business leaders and the central HR team.
About the Role
HR Interface Recruitment Consulting is hiring an Assistant Manager - HR for its client. The role consists of approximately 70% HR Generalist responsibilities and 30% Talent Acquisition focused on IT and Tech recruitment. This is a high-ownership Individual Contributor role responsible for managing the HR function for the client's Mumbai office.
The selected candidate will serve as the primary HR partner for approximately 35 employees at the Mumbai office, ensuring a seamless employee experience across the complete employee lifecycle from hiring and onboarding through engagement, employee relations and exit management. The total company strength is approximately 300 employees, with the remaining employees based out of the Kolkata office and managed by the HR team there.
Working closely with the leadership team and the central HR team based in Kolkata, the Assistant Manager - HR will play a key role in creating a positive workplace culture while supporting hiring requirements for the Mumbai office.
This role is ideal for HR professionals who enjoy working closely with employees, solving people challenges and creating an engaging workplace while continuing to remain actively involved in recruitment.
Employee Experience & Employee Relations Primary Focus
Act as the primary HR point of contact for employees in the Mumbai office.
Build strong relationships with employees and managers while fostering a positive, collaborative and inclusive work culture.
Handle employee queries, concerns and workplace issues with empathy, professionalism and confidentiality.
Manage employee grievances, conflict resolution and counselling while ensuring fair and timely resolutions.
Support managers in driving a healthy employee experience across the office.
Employee Lifecycle Management
Own the complete onboarding experience for new employees, including induction, documentation and smooth integration into the organization.
Coordinate employee confirmations and maintain employee lifecycle documentation.
Manage exit formalities, conduct exit interviews and analyze attrition trends to identify improvement opportunities.
Ensure HR documentation, employee records and HRMS data remain accurate and up to date.
Employee Engagement & Culture
Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, celebrations, recognition programs and team-building activities.
Drive initiatives that strengthen employee morale, engagement and workplace culture.
Support implementation of company-wide HR initiatives within the Mumbai office.
Partner with business leaders to continuously enhance the overall employee experience.
Talent Acquisition Approximately 30%
Manage end-to-end recruitment for technical and business roles based in the Mumbai office.
Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring requirements and workforce plans.
Source, screen and assess candidates across multiple technology and corporate functions.
Coordinate interviews, offer discussions, joining formalities and candidate communication.
Build strong talent pipelines for niche technology hiring through proactive sourcing and networking.
HR Operations & Coordination
Maintain HR reports, recruitment trackers and employee records.
Ensure compliance with HR processes and internal policies.
Coordinate closely with the central HR team on organization-wide HR initiatives.
Support implementation of HR programs and employee communication across the Mumbai office.
Qualifications & Skills
MBA / PGDM in Human Resources is mandatory.
6ā7 years of progressive HR experience within IT, IT Services, Software Product, SaaS or Consulting organizations.
Strong exposure to both HR Generalist responsibilities and Talent Acquisition.
Hands-on experience managing the complete employee lifecycle.
Experience recruiting technical talent including Software Engineers, Developers, QA, Project Managers and related technology roles.
Experience independently managing HR activities for a business location will be highly preferred.
Strong employee relations and grievance handling capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
High emotional intelligence with the ability to handle confidential employee matters.
Strong recruitment and interviewing skills.
Experience using HRMS platforms and Applicant Tracking Systems ATS.
Excellent communication, organization and coordination abilities.
Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently.
